Colonel (Retd) Jagdev Singh has joined in as the first Registrar of Central University of Punjab on 5th September, 2011. An MBA, a Post Graduate in Computer Science and a Graduate in Electrical Engineering, Col Singh served with a technical arm of the Indian Army for more than three decades and got a wide exposure in the technical and administrative areas while serving all over the Country. As a member of the most advanced technical arm of the Indian Army, he was responsible to have some of the most prestigious projects commissioned successfully.

While serving in the Faculty of Studies of one of the premier establishments responsible to impart higher level training to the officers of all services, planned and executed various IT projects and organized computer training to the officers. As a principal advisor on Communications, IT and Electronics & Instrumentation matters in a Defence Research and Development Organisation laboratory, successfully completed a multi disciplinary research project, one of the first of its kind at the national level, in a record and stipulated time. While working with the same organization, planned and executed other research oriented projects related to the fields of meteorology, IT and electronics, communications & instrumentation in the most in hospitable terrain of the country.

As a Registrar of one of the leading universities of the country for more than five years, was associated and contributed towards its meteoric growth in academics, infrastructure development and administrative issues ensuring most optimal utilization of resources
